Baccarat 19th Century Gilt Bronze Cut-glass Tantalus  Liqueur Set, C 1890 containing three decanters and stoppers and twelve liqueur glasses. The square-sectioned decanters cut with panels of fine diamonds between chamfered milled corners, with polygonal ball stoppers, the gilded bronze locking Tantalus stand including lyre-shaped ends embossed with torches, the central bar hung with a pivoting band of drapery and surmounted by a swan-neck handle, the openwork base plate modelled with classical ornament and further swans, the twelve cut liqueur glasses contained within the ormolu ornament at the base.
