Frederick Chivers (1881-1965) was one of the beat painters of our time serving in France with the Royal Medical Corps. He had developed considerable skill as a fruit and flower painter at Royal Worcester, leaving the factory to enlist in 1914. On his return to England in 1918 Fred Chivers approached Coalport for employment, showing paintings as evidence of his individual style. His works are highly regarded and sought after by collectors
