A Ridgeway Ironstone elegant table Platter ideal for serving up meats for any celebratory gatherings. In 1820s John and William Ridgeway started their own crafting of Ironstone Serving Ware. A beautiful platter made in Staffordshire Stoke - on -Trent England.
The Ridgeway family was one of the important dynasties manufacturing Staffordshire pottery.
From 1808 porcelain or bone china was produced by JW Ridgeway in a great profusion of patterns. The styles were typical for that period with many flowers, landscapes and some modified Neoclassical and Chinese (Anglo- oriental) treatments. Much of the porcelain was also transfer-printed or combined transfer-printed and hand painting.
This platter i believe to be both transfer-printed and hand painted.
