An impressive Royal Worcester Shell Vase, c. 1903, modeled in shape of a large shell with smaller shells leaves and pieces of corals adorning the base finished in blush ivory and gilt. Standing upright and with a peak towards the side the edges at the top is somewhat decorated with leafy ruffles and parts curled. The corals appears to be climbing toward the top in between the shells and the leaves. This vase sits on a circular base with a decorated curled top.
Royal Worcester was a leading manufacturer of porcelain in Worcester, England and was established in 1751 by John Wall. Royal Worcester still remains in the luxury tableware and giftware market today, although production in Worcester itself has ended.
